The philosophy we embrace is that clients are in a constant state of personal change and we work with your individual insurance policy to ensure that you maximize your psychotherapeutic benefits.  Your record is kept completely confidential and treatment is never dictated by insurance companies.

We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Aetna PPO, and University of Chicago (USHIP). Blue Lotus Psychological Services accepts cash, check, and major credit cards.

Individual Counseling & Psychotherapy
Individual therapy provides you with an opportunity to work with an experienced therapist one-on-one—in a safe, caring, and confidential environment—to explore your feelings, beliefs, or behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories and experiences, identify aspects of your life that you would like to change, better understand yourself and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change.

People seek therapy for a wide variety of reasons, from coping with major life challenges or childhood trauma, to dealing with depression or anxiety, to simply desiring personal growth and greater self-knowledge. Seeing a therapist is not a personal failure or weakness because seeking professional help takes strength. Couples/Marital Counseling & Psychotherapy
Couples therapy provides you and your loved ones the opportunity to work with a therapist conjointly in the therapeutic space. 
Couples counseling is a process through which a couple (who may be engaged, dating, married, partnered—or sometimes even parent and child or other pairings) works with a trained therapist to identify specific areas of conflict and/or aspects of their relationship they would like to change, and then develops a plan of action to improve each individual’s satisfaction and contentment.

Working with a therapist in a safe and confidential setting, couples are able to explore how their individual backgrounds, beliefs, thoughts, and behaviors may be impacting their relationship in both positive and negative ways. The therapist may assist the couple with addressing any immediate and pressing problems, as well as developing strategies for protecting and enhancing the long-term health and happiness of their relationship.

All couples can benefit from therapy to reduce relationship stress due to various life issues, improve communication and conflict resolution skills, address financial issues and major life transitions, discuss trust and boundary matters, commitment issues, sexual/intimacy concerns, co-parenting, division of labor, revitalizing long-term committed relationships, premarital concerns, or during separation. Coming into therapy does not mean that your relationship is coming to an end. All relationships have issues and conflict, and coming into therapy can help you manage these concerns in a way that improves your quality of life. Family Counseling & Psychotherapy
Family therapy provides you and your family the opportunity to work with an experienced therapist to improve communication and resolve conflicts. It is an ideal therapeutic method for helping family members adjust to an immediate family member struggling with an addiction, medical issue or mental health diagnosis. Family therapy is a form of psychotherapy that seeks to reduce distress and conflict by improving the systems of interactions between family members. 

Common reasons people seek family therapy include the impact of a child having problems, a major trauma or change, unexpected or traumatic loss of a family member, adjusting to a new family member in the home, domestic violence, divorce, or parental conflict that impacts the family.

Group Counseling & Psychotherapy
Group therapy is a form of counseling where you will meet with others with common concerns to describe and discuss problems together under the direction of an experienced therapist. Group therapy is beneficial as it contains members at different stages of the treatment process. Seeing people who are coping or recovering gives hope to those at the beginning of the process.  Additionally, being part of a group of people who have the same experiences helps people see that what they are going through is universal and that they are not alone. Group members are able to help one another by sharing information which can boost self-esteem and confidence. Group therapy is a great place to develop socialization techniques and enhance interpersonal learning.
